The first film made starring Aaron was Autism – The Early Signs, a half hour documentary produced in association with the Autistic Family Support Association. The producer was Hardy Stow and Mark Poole was the director and editor. Hardy also wrote the documentary, and it was shot by Vlad Bunyevitch and sound was by Mark Tarpey.

Autism – The Early Signs told the stories of Aaron, Louise and Richard, who were all around six years old at the time of filming. Professor Bruce Tonge was quoted as the expert on autism, and we heard from the parents of the three children involved.

Autism – The Teen Years was a follow-up documentary made in 2003. Also made with the Autistic Family Support Association, It revisited Aaron and his family, as well as Richard, and introduced us to Jacqui, who had only been diagnosed with having autism in her teens.
